This is the main series.
It consists of a translation by Frederick C. Blodi (1917-1996) of the German original which was published between 1899 and 1918. To this series are added Haugwitz/Optical Instruments for the Examination of the Eye, Frederick C. Blodi/The Eye, Vision and Ophthalmology on Postage Stamps (both titles contained in vol.XI/2,1986) and Heitz/History of Contact Lenses.
Complete, this treatise will consist of 11vols in 21 parts.
History of Ophthalmology
The monographs are supplements to Hirschberg's history, written by different authors but also translations of important monographs on ophthalmic history and on optics.
This series produces about two volumes per year and was created 1995.
